Wow so yesterday was quite an eventful ride. We happily took to our bikes, but sadly departed Nola after having a wonderful 4 days building and relaxing through the city. We left and quite soon were stopped by a very long train that we had to walk around or risk stopping for over an hour. We then continued on a scenic ride trough the city's French Quarter and out onto the Mississippi River Trail. The trail goes along the top of the levees and is a wonderful ride.
We briefly departed the trail to go around an unpacked section and found a model plane club that was putting on an air show for a group of veterans.
After our first lunch break we hopped back on the levies then headed down a quite country road for the majority of the afternoon. We spent most of our time riding past some large factories for grade, steel, and oil refining.
