It is about 30 minutes until we head out for prom so today's post will be a bit early and rushed. It was a fairly quick and straight forward ride though. We woke up and had an easy top 3 breakfast before leaving Lone Pine. We had eggs, bacon eggs, more fruit than we could eat between breakfast and lunch combined, muffins, coffee, OJ, and best of all Cronuts (half croissant and half donut, aka amazing). We then loaded up and headed out on prom date rides.
Most couples double dates and ride in pairs of prom couples. Alice, Dave and I were joined by Dylan and Sarah for a great ride. We headed out and we're sharing stories of our high school proms. Dylan's was easily the best but sadly too long to include here.
We joined up with Chelsea for a little after helping her with a flat tire. We then headed along the Sierras all day into a great shade lunch of left over mail drop food and fruit from breakfast. The day then continued as a flat day with some nice tailwind leaving lunch. We made it into Bishop, CA nice and early with time to check out the town.
A large group of people checked out thrift shops for additional prom outfits. Dave, Steph P, and I went to a Starbucks so we could work on planning the day we get to Monterey. We have most details and an email/blog post will share the details in a day or so.
We then enjoyed a nice burrito buffet pre-prom dinner and got dressed for the evening. We are currently walking to prom, aka the bowling alley, and about to arrive so I'm going to take a few photos and post this. Tomorrow we have a nice ride to Lee Vining and then Yosemite the day after.
